Sumitra Mishra is the Executive Director of Mobile Creches, India. She is a passionate believer in equal rights and opportunities for marginalised women and children. Sumitra makes significant contribution towards the design and development of programmes and policies that promote childcare provisions as an entitlement for women informal workers in India, and globally.
Mobile Creches is a pioneering early childhood development organisation, that works at the intersection of gender, labour, and education rights. It achieves this by ensuring young children are a national priority in law, policies, research, and programmes.

In her twenty-five years of work, Sumitra has worked closely with children and young adults with disabilities through programme design, teacher training, and policy matters. She has wide experience in institution building, policy advocacy, and movement building, especially on inter-sectional agendas.
